JVC GY-HM100 and GY-HM700
new
solid-state camcorders and NLE-Systems to work with (selection only, not a final
listing!) One of the most important questions customers are asking is how the GY-HM100/700 cameras work with certain nonlinear editing systems. This week JVC has been able to test several popular systems and the results are very positive. Actually the workflow that was been promoted with Apple's Final Cut is also available on Adobe CS4 (Premiere) and on Thomson GV (Canopus). For the latter two NLEs the customer needs to record in .MP4 format. "Ingest" is similar as with Apple Final Cut and QuickTime i.e. all the customer has to do, is open the MP4 files in his editing application; no conversion or other ingest procedure is required. Please check the lists below. JVC has grouped the list by bit rate, formats with higher bit rates are higher up in the list regardless of the resolution. Frame rates are listed in a descending order from left to right starting with the 60 Hz formats followed by the 50 Hz formats. JVC has also found a number of interesting applications that can make workflow with the cameras even more comfortable. Please check the comments describing the individual pieces of software that can enhance the workflow with our cameras. Please study the list carefully, they inform customers about the great capabilities of our new solid-state camcorders. The listed compatibility is equally valid for the GY-HM100 and the GY-HM700. Please bear in mind though that in order to record .MP4 files on the GY-HM700 you need to attach the KA-MR100 solid state recorder to the camcorder. You´ve got AVID Liquid? no problem to do postproduction with...HERE is the key!
